RUBI-SFQ Filterpumps™ are all 316 stainless steel filter pumps, for use in corrosive environments and seawater (see below - "Using RUBI-SFQ Filterpumps™ in Seawater"). They will pump and screen up to 2000 litres a minute, at a maximum head of 4.3 bar.
RUBI-SFQ Stainless Steel Filterpumps™
Our RUBI-SFQ Filterpumps™ are based on the successful Tsurumi SFQ range of 316 grade stainless steel submersible pumps. RUBI-SFQ Filterpumps™ are all stainless steel construction, the pump wetted parts are all 316 stainless steel as is the integral self-cleaning filter on the suction intake. Our filter pumps are designed so that their intake filter mesh is continuously back-washed, allowing you to screen and pump water simultaneously.
These filter pumps provide medium to high head flow rates up to 2 m3 / minute, 530 US GPM. The powerful three-phase motors have thermal protection in the motor windings, and the intake screens are available in a range of mesh sizes.
Typical uses for RUBI-SFQ Filterpumps™ are:
Rotorflush RUBI-SFQ submersible filter pumps have integral self-cleaning intake screens, offer fine or coarse filtration, and provide the same low maintenance and efficiency shared by all Rotorflush products.
RUBI-SFQ Filterpumps™ feature all wetted parts in 316 grade stainless steel. This “marine grade” construction enables these pumps to perform well in seawater and salt water. But please note:
316 stainless steel is used widely in marine applications, but its corrosion resistance in contact with seawater is limited, so it cannot be considered ‘corrosion proof’. The corrosion risks increase with the effects of chloride concentrations, evaporation, temperature, aeration etc, (working individually or together); hence, the guarantee period for these models relates to the mechanical operation and may not cover all seawater conditions. Please contact our sales department for guidance.
Robust screen material that can be easily cleaned with a pressure washer. Ideal for heat pumps and other applications where small tolerances require finer screening.
Available 50, 100 and 315 micron apertures; 315 micron only for 600 mm diameter filter pumps.
A tough screen providing for low maintenance; filter pumps with coarse mesh come fitted with rubber backwash jets which are suitable for handling larger particulate and debris.
Available in 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm. 2 mm aperture mesh recommended for Fish and Eel protection
These filter pumps are ideal for screening and pumping quarry and mine run-off, seawater and brackish water.
The filter pumps have a weight range from approx 51kg - 200 kg, lifting gear is required to move them. These filter pumps can be suspended in tanks, sumps or from buoys, or raised and lowered on a guide-rail system at dockside.
For best performance, make sure that there is good clearance around the filter pump mesh so that back-washed debris can disperse, and that the filter pump is above any silt or sludge that may accumulate.
There is no such thing as an entirely maintenance free filter, but RUBI-SFQ filterpumps, in keeping with all Rotorflush filtration products, are designed for low maintenance hassle-free use.
The stainless mesh can be cleaned with a pressure washer. There is a trade-off between mesh size and maintenance - how often depends on your mesh size and the quality of what you are filtering.
As a minimum, we recommend the following:
As a condition of our guarantee, and to protect against dry-running, we recommend the use of a starter panel or control panel capable of cos phi load monitoring when running these filter pumps.
Full maintenance guidelines can be found in the instruction manuals available from the download link above.
What is the difference between a Rotorflush Filterpump™ and a filter pump?
A filter pump is a pump with a filter on the intake; a Rotorflush Filterpump™ is our unique, award-winning submersible pump with a built-in self-cleaning filter on the pump intake that keeps the intake filter clear and protects the pump from blocking and clogging.
All our products are built to order and can be made to customer specifications.
