RF200 filters are general purpose suction intake filters with a built-in self-cleaning filter mechanism that back-washes the intake mesh as your pump draws water. They are designed for use with a surface mounted pump connecting to the pump suction hose. A portion of the pump output can be used to supply the backwash to the screen. Alternatively, RF200 filters can be made with a built-in submersible pump to provide a dedicated backwash to the mesh separately from your main pump.
Dirty water is screened at source, helping to prevent the intake, pump and any connected equipment from blocking. These smaller capacity self-cleaning intakes are ideal for domestic and light industrial applications.
Here are some typical uses of these filters:
Standard RF200R self-cleaning suction intake screens fitted with various meshes
RF200R-E self-cleaning suction intake screen with built in backwash pump and perforated steel mesh
Rotorflush RF200 self-cleaning suction intakes can be fitted with:
The filter mesh is made up of replaceable bias-cut nylon mesh offering a very clean filtration, ideal for sampling. The inserts are inexpensive and easy to replace.
Available in 60 micron, 115 micron or 300 micron.
A robust 2 layer sintered steel screen that can be easily cleaned with a pressure washer. Ideal for screening water for heat pumps and other application with small tolerances.
Available in 50 micron, 100 micron and 315 micron.
A coarse screen providing ultra-low maintenance cycles, filters and screens with coarse mesh come fitted with rubber backwash jets which are suitable for handling larger particles. Ideal difficult water conditions.
Mesh apertures available: 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm
A coarse screen providing ultra-low maintenance cycles, filters and strainers with coarse mesh come fitted with rubber backwash jets which are suitable for handling larger particles. Perforated mesh strainers are used where water is very dirty and screening needs to remove larger debris and particulate.
Mesh apertures available: 3 mm, 6 mm and 10 mm
Due to their small size (200 mm diameter), RF200s can be installed in a number of ways.
The key thing to remember is to make sure that they have a lot of clear space around the mesh for the backwashed debris to be dispersed into, and that they are not sited in any silt or sludge build up below the filter.
RF200s can be suspended or attached to a float. We also manufacture stands and guide rails to help site our products.

Although they are self-cleaning all of our products will require a manual clean every once in a while.
The nylon mesh inserts are easily replaced, and stainless mesh can be cleaned with a pressure washer. How often depends on your mesh size and what you are filtering.
